Bodleian Library: Duke Humfrey’s Library

One of the most iconic Oxford filming locations is Duke Humfrey’s Library inside the Bodleian Library. This historic library, dating back to 1487, featured as the Hogwarts Library in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The unforgettable scene where Harry sneaks into the restricted section using his Invisibility Cloak was filmed here.

Bodleian Library: The Divinity School
Also part of the Bodleian Library, the Divinity School was used as the Hogwarts Hospital Wing. Fans will recognise this light-filled, ornate space from scenes including Harry waking up after battling Voldemort and McGonagall teaching Ron to dance in The Goblet of Fire.

The grand staircase at Christ Church College was used in multiple scenes including Harry’s first arrival at Hogwarts. It’s also the setting for emotional moments, like Harry reuniting with Ron and Hermione.
